Day 1: Cusco to Piscacucho and Llactapata Exploration

Day Before the Hike – Briefing Session:

Before the adventure begins, there will be a mandatory meeting with your guide the day before the trek starts. During this session, you'll review the itinerary, get packing and gear recommendations, and have a chance to ask any important questions to ensure you're fully prepared.

9:00 a.m. – Begin the Inca Trail:

After a brief checkpoint, you’ll cross the Urubamba River and start trekking, easing into the journey with rural scenery and mountain views.

12:30 p.m. – Picnic lunch:

Enjoy a hearty outdoor meal prepared by our camp chef, featuring fresh, local ingredients for energy and nourishment.

2:00 p.m. – Llactapata visit:

In the afternoon, trek to Llactapata, an impressive agricultural and ceremonial Inca site. Your guide will explain its function and its connection to Machu Picchu.

5:00 p.m. – Camp at Hatunchaca or Ayapata:

Settle into your designated campsite with a welcome tea and a hot dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Warmiwañusca Pass Ascent & Pacaymayo Valley Descent

Prepare for the most challenging day.

5:30 a.m. – Camp breakfast:

Warm drinks and a full breakfast will kickstart your demanding trek.

7:00 a.m. – Ascent to Warmiwañusca Pass:

Hike to the “Dead Woman’s Pass,” the highest point of the Inca Trail, through cloud forests and high-Andean ecosystems with guided rest stops.

12:30 p.m. – Lunch at Pacaymayo:

After descending, enjoy a generous lunch with breathtaking valley views.
Afternoon rest: Relax, stretch, or chat with your guide about Andean history and worldview.

6:00 p.m. – Dinner & overnight at Pacaymayo camp:

Day 3: Inca Ruins & Cloud Forest – Phuyupatamarca to Wiñayhuayna

8:30 a.m. – Visit Runkurakay & Sayacmarca:

Explore the circular structure of Runkurakay, then ascend to Sayacmarca, an impressive cliffside city.

12:30 p.m. – Lunch at Phuyupatamarca:

2:00 p.m. – Descend to Wiñayhuayna camp:

Trek through lush cloud forest to Wiñayhuayna, a site with functioning terraces and irrigation canals.

Day 4: Arrival at Machu Picchu & End of the Journey

8:30 a.m. – Hike to Machu Picchu:

Reach Aguas Calientes and transfer by bus (≈ 25 min) to Machu Picchu’s entrance.

9:00–11:30 a.m. – Guided tour of the citadel:

Your professional guide will lead you through temples, ceremonial spaces, agricultural terraces, and iconic viewpoints. Plenty of time for photos.

12:00 p.m. – Lunch in Aguas Calientes:

Refuel with a set-menu lunch at a selected local restaurant.

By booking this service, the client agrees to the following terms and conditions, which ensure the organization, quality, and fulfillment of the tour:

Reservations are confirmed with a minimum deposit of 50% of the total service cost.
Full payment must be completed at least 24 hours before the tour begins.
GMAX LUXE TRAVEL reserves the right to release reserved spots if payment deadlines are not met.
